Private Prenatal Classes
Join me in a journey of self discovery. Our classes are professionally tailored with evidence based information to assist you as you embark on your path to parenthood. Throughout our sessions we cover a wide range of topics including (but not limited too) pre labour preparation, optimal fetal positioning, the stages of labour, comfort measures, using your breath and your environment, possible interventions, the early postpartum and early feeding. Planning a hospital birth? You're covered. Having a homebirth? We cover that too. Are you having a planned caesarean? No problem. Our classes are set to work on your mind, body and decision making as you venture into what will undoubtedly be one of the most life changing experiences you have encountered.

Group Prenatal Classes
In partnership with the District of Kent, all members of the Fraser Valley and Fraser Canyon are welcome to join for a 5 hour group class. Our classes are held over 2 Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8:30pm seasonally.
This is pending enrollment and a private class will be offered should group classes not run.
About Agassiz Chilliwack Prenatal
Birth is miraculous. It can also be a time of uncertainty. How will it unfold? What are my choices? What can I do to better prepare for my birth? How will I navigate the postpartum? Agassiz Chilliwack prenatal is taught by Carmen Schultz. A professional with more than 2 decades of experience supporting families through this transition. From pre labour to postpartum, your personalized prenatal intensive is designed to provide you with all you need to know to feel confident in your decisions surrounding your experience
About your Instructor

Carmen has been working in the birth world for well over two decades. She began her career working within a community services program, where she received intensive training supporting at risk women throughout pregnancy and birth. She later went on to become a certified birth doula and has attended more births than she can count. Carmen has taken ongoing certification in Childbirth Education, as well as education in breastfeeding, optimal fetal positioning and sensory processing. Carmen also has a certificate in Trauma Informed Coaching. Carmen began teaching not only her clients but others within her community. Carmen served on a panel at BC Women's Reproductive mental health and takes a special interest in postpartum adjustment. In 2010, Carmen created, and to this day still teaches, the Birth Doula Studies program through the College of the Rockies. Carmen has certification in Birth and Bereavement and has supported families through loss as well. When Carmen is not teaching classes she loves to garden, hike and spend time with her furry grandbabies. Carmen is a mom to two grown children and hopes to add "human" grandma to her resume soon.

I was so happy that Carmen was so thorough with her class that I learned about what to expect from a c-section as well. It gave me the confidence in a scary time to be as prepared as possible. Her relaxed and comfortable way of teaching was such a breath of fresh air. We actually had many laughs and it made the whole situation less anxiety fuelled because she gave us so much knowledge and support. She even checks in to see how we are doing postpartum and we love her for that!! Thank you Carmen!
